I am a science communicator! This blog is a place for me to share the things I love about science.
I am currently the Education & Outreach Coordinator at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at UBC; I really love spreading my passion for science to people of all ages, especially the messy world of biology. I am particularly focused on engaging with adults – I feel that the communication world sees adults as old dogs. Well, I know plenty of old dogs who learn new tricks, get loving families, and learn to understand climate change.
Science is for everyone!
When I’m not rattling on and on about the wonders of the world, I enjoy cooking and baking, most notably convincing yeast and other microbes to work on beverages and breads in my kitchen. We brew our own ginger beer!
I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, and have worked for Alberta Environment and the U of A Herbarium.
